I'd like to get a feel for how many people would be interested and able to attend a gathering (assuming you'd have to travel to get to it), and if you want to have a joint picnic with the WoW folks again.
What do you think?

Well the wife and I were discussing offering up Casa de Swifty for this years picnic if folks were interested. I have a decent amount of yard space and plenty of facilities. In keeping with it being the year of the boar, I was thinking that I would supply a pig roast as the main meat dish as well. What do you folks think?

Pig roast at Casa de Swifty? Sounds like a plan to me! Plenty of nearby hotels too.

Cor and I will not be able to make it this year. We'll be in San Diego for our wedding and honeymoon from 6/16 - 7/8. Even if it took place prior to or shortly after this time period, we'll either be too busy, or too broke and/or out of PTO. I hope you all have a wonderful time and I want lots of pictures, please!!! ![]() |

Chaa and I are planning on coming.
A couple of questions. 1 which airport should we book? The last time I was in Chicago there was only 1 airport. 2 What kind of drive time are we looking at from the airport to the picnic? 3 I know it's BYOB but what about eats? What will we need to pick up? See ya'll there Vertue |

I haven't ink'ed the hotel yet, but chances are we'll be staying in the neighborhood of O'hare. More on that soon. 2 What kind of drive time are we looking at from the airport to the picnic? Swifty will have to let you know that one. 3 I know it's BYOB but what about eats? What will we need to pick up? We'll have dish signups closer to the event. Generally folks will bring sodas and beer to share, as well. |

I will be suppling the main dish, but we will have a sign-up for other dishes or plastic forks, plates, ice, etc. As a rule figure on bringing EITHER a side dish or beverage that feeds about 10, and any alchahol you prefer. So think of anything you may want to bring.
As to how Far I am from Ohare, it isn't the distance that matters most, is the time. At lowest traffic volume O'hare is only about 15 mins away, but on a typical day and time is about 30. If weather or traffic is bad, can be 45 mins. Swifty ![]() |

Chaa and I are going to rent a car from the airport.Since I am a full size person it will be a full size car so if anyone needs a ride we can coordinate flight times and ride together.

Que and I will be renting as big of a van as we can get, as well. I haven't started in on airfares yet, as I'm still trying to get the hotel nailed down. But that's next!

I bought a van recently, and I live less than 20 mins from the O'Hare desiganted pickup area so I will also be able to provide some transportaion for anyone flying in. I have the entire day planned off of work, so I can make multiple runs if needed.
I will create a seperate thread for Flight ETA's, so we can form Pickup Groups as needed. ![]() |

Here is the link to the hotel (Courtesy of Rakh of SnS)
www.springhillchicago.com We have a block of rooms reserved under "Dragonchow". King rooms are $84 a night. Doubles are $104. Availability on doubles may be limited. The hotel runs shuttles to Chicago O'Hare airport every 1/2 hour. If you're flying to Midway, you can get to the hotel on public transportation for $2 but it's a hassle, I won't lie to ya. One final thing, there is an Outback Steakhouse in the hotel. If you have any questions or problems feel free to post here or shoot me a tell in game. |
