UPDATED 3/16/08 - tenth spell gem and new hotbar with customizable clicky/quick switch bag slots, etc.
Ax's unbreakable (so far) UI photo.
The UI Files (Unzip to \everquest\uifiles directory))
The UI_Charactername_Saryrn.ini file that I know is set up for 1920X1200 and some other resolutions that I've used.
Check the pic. Don't bother with this UI unless you run at a minimum of 1024X768 - even at that resolution it doesn't fit well, bigger is better for it.Also don't bother if you need multiple hotbutton bars up at once. It shows only ten buttons and you can cycle through sets of them. I may
change this at some point by making the buttons smaller but I just haven't got there yet. Yes, the pet window on it works fine - but you won't
see it in the pic I put up. Wami uses it, though.
Download the UI files, unzip to your everquest\uifiles directory. It should create a folder there called quartzrng2.
In your everquest directory, find your UI_Charname_saryrn.ini file and back it up (I just change it to read UI_Characternameold_saryrn.ini) that way it's easy to revert if you don't like it.
Now download the UI_Charname_saryrn.ini file and change Charactername to your character name. Put it in your everquest directory.
I have a TON of requests for this each time a new expansion comes out - mainly because it doesn't break with new stuff. Worst case I have to add something into it, like when the potion belt came out and when the mail button came out, the 9th spell gem, more buff slots, etc. For that reason I will create a copy of this, sticky it and leave it up.
By the way, I don't take credit for creation. Originally this was called "Quartz" - you can still find various versions and changes floating around at eqinterface, etc. The creator stopped keeping up with expansions so I just made it my own and learned how to update it. I've also stolen some parts and peices from other UIs, like the bags with weapon slots in them.
Also by the way, for those of you who like to tinker, the secret to making your UI mostly-expansion-proof is this: Only change or update the window you absolutely need to. Then only put files for those windows in the UINAME folder. What this does is load those windows from your custom UI and the rest from default. When there is an update for instance (like this last one they added a gear slot tot he inventory window), it will only affect your UI if the affected windows are custom. Hope that makes some sense. Long story short, leave stuff default that you don't really need to change, and don't copy the default files into your customUI directory.
