I think it is safe to say a good time, and good eats was had by all! I wanted to thank all those who made it out for the picnic, and salute all those who traveled so far to be with us, especially those who had to fly to be here! It was great to get to see everyone again, and was especially nice to get to meet Kerukath and Ozno in person for the very 1st time! They also were the only ones to need a passport to fly here this year. It was really great to get to sit and visit with everyone...

Impatience and I are seriously looking at trying to make it to the picnic this year. We weren't going to because of budget issues but now that we are playing again we really want to go see you guys again!

Right now we are looking for a place here in MN to board our 2 black labs. If we can find one that is reasonably priced we'll be one step closer to being able to attend. The next step is asking if any Chow in the Chicago area would board 2 computer geeks? We...

Looks like we will have a group of about 15+ It would be good if those attending brought a main dish, or a side dish, desert etc to feed that amount or so. I will be providing a small assortment of soft drinks, and a variety of snack chips.In addation Polish sausages with buns, kalbasa, BBQ shreded chicken with buns, and a large tub of roasted vegies. If there is a specific soft drink you want, or any alchahol plz bring it along. Anyone want to volunteer for ice or veggies and dip?...

old gaming books and stuff

I was going thru some old boxes of gaming stuff, and decided to get rid of it all. I was going to just sell it all on ebay, but realized some of the folks coming to the picnic this year are old time gamers as well, and especially with the old D&D stuff, some of you might want it, if so I would be thrilled to sell it at half the going ebay rate or lower even. Stuff like the old d&d moduels, dragon magazines like issues 71-199 or so, a ton of dungeon magazine, 5 dif grimtooths traps,...

Anyone have any outings or activities in mind for the weekend? I was thinking about hosting some gaming saturday night after the picnic. You know, some dice, some miniatures, some mayhem. Let me know if any of you are interested. I also have another table that would be open to any folks who wanted to play some poker instead.

It's official!

The 2008 Dragonchow Picnic will be in Chicago on Saturday, June 28th.

I don't think we have enough people for me to negotiate a group rate for a hotel, but I'll research some possibilities and see what we come up with. If you plan on traveling to Chicago and will want a room, please send me a PM.

One of the requirements for picnic location is finding someone local to organize it. We need a picnic location itself, with a roofed over picnic area, a place for a meet and great the night before, a hotel with group rates near our location, and possibly a spot for a good-bye breakfast on the sunday after the picnic.

Hi Folks!

Can you believe the picnic is only 8 days away?!?!? It's time for that last little bit of planning.

In past years we've had an organized breakfast both Saturday and Sunday. This year, our hotel has a "complimenatary continental breakfast". That usually means variations of toast and coffee. If you would like something a little more substantial than that in the morning, let me know and I'll make us a reservation at a nearby breakfast haunt.

Please post here for any side item etc that you wish to bring. As a guidline if you are bringing food, plan on it feeding 10-12 people. The pig will provide a meat dish for 30-35 people, but not everyone is going to want roast pork, so main dishes are also welcome. I will have 2-3 grill available for those who may need access to one. The Official 2007 Dragonchow/SnS picnic will be held at Swifty's house (Now there is one brave monk!) on Saturday, May 26th. Starting time is TBA.
